Prayers of Devotion to Saint Dymphna
In Honor of St. Dymphna
1. Almighty and loving Father, by the example of St. Dymphna, Virgin and martyr, and by her intercession, protect all those afflicted by tension and emotional stress, to enjoy your protection in life, and eternal happiness in your presence now and forever. I ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, You have
willed that St. Dymphna should be invoked by thousands of clients as the
patroness of nervous and
mental disease and have brought it about that her
interest in these patients should be an inspiration to, and an ideal of charity
throughout the world. Grant that, through the prayers of this youthful
martyr of purity, those who suffer from nervous and mental illness everywhere on
earth may be helped and consoled, (mention your request).
Be pleased to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna and of Your Blessed Mother. Give those whom I recommend the patience to bear with their affliction and resignation to do Your divine will.
Give them the
consolation they need and especially the cure they so much desire, if it be Your
Will. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

O God, Who gave St. Dymphna to Thy Infant Church in Brabant as a perfect
model of virtue and didst deign that Thy servant seal with her innocent blood
and with numerous miracles the teachings of the Holy Gospels so that the
religion might spread more rapidly, we beseech Thee that Thou wouldst grant
especially to those who honor her relics, Thy Protection, so that being
fortified in the faith and gratefully imitating all her virtues we may render
greater glory to Thy Supreme and Infinite Majesty, (mention your request)

I turn to you, St. Dymphna, patron of those with anxiety, depression or other mental suffering, confident in your concern for my plight. As a young girl you endured extreme stress and anxiety, yet you never stopped trusting in the Lord. Since then you have interceded to help countless people find solace. Today I humbly seek your intercession in my troubled state. (here mention your request)
Please ask God to heal my mind and heart, and grant me the serenity and peace in Christ that I long for. I am so very grateful for the gift of your caring assistance. Amen.

St. Dymphna, I appeal to you for help with my illness. My struggles are often difficult to bear. You have helped so many in need of healing, and I would be very grateful if you would pray for my recovery. In Jesus' name I thank you and look forward to a day when I am free from pain and discomfort. Amen.
7. For a Strong Faith
O St. Dymphna, what a wonderful role model you are for all the faithful! Though at times I may stumble, my heart's desire is to grow closer to God. Help me to develop a mature, resilient faith. I know your prayers will allow me to attain a richer spirituality and daily life in harmony with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I will always treasure you for uniting me with the Lord. Amen.

St. Dymphna, even in distress you acted with valor and grace. Since then your powerful prayers have helped many find their way. I now seek your intercession for my dear ones in need (mention their names), that they will be strengthened by the courage and love of Christ. Please also pray for the well-being of those who feel alone. May God heal their inner turmoil and bring us all together in His name. Amen.
